David Meketon, a school-based research liaison at the University of Pennsylvania, has spent more than a decade studying non-cognitive traits and their relationship to school achievement and success. For more than 12 years, Mr. Meketon has worked with Dr. Angela Duckworth, who is widely known for her research on Grit. Meketon, a graduate of Rutgers University and Penn State, is a 37-year veteran of the school district of Philadelphia, where he has served as a teacher, student support coordinator, dean of students, and assistant principal. He is also a Fulbright Teacher Exchange Fellow and has taught philosophy, English, and history. Meketon served as a facilitator with “A Gathering of Men,” a community based anti-recidivism initiative in the Pennsylvania State Correction System.
