 lk will provide an overview of a Goucher graduate’s experience at a Stat
 e of Maryland Agency\, the Northeast Maryland Waste Disposal Authority\, i
 ncluding the day-to-day management of various solid waste\, waste diversio
 n (reuse\, recycling\, composting) and renewable energy projects across th
 e state\, including procurement\, contract management and operations. Kitt
 y McIlroy will cover how this intersects with ambitious climate and zero w
 aste planning goals she helped design and is implementing on behalf of her
  member jurisdictions. She will also provide an inside look as to what it
 ’s like drafting environmental legislation (regarding extended producer 
 responsibility\, among other topics)\, working with legislators and regula
 tors\, building stakeholder consensus and witness panels\, and testifying 
 in both federal and state committee hearings in Washington D.C. and Annapo
 lis\, in her role as President of Maryland Recycling Network.
