Black History Month: Poetry Workshop

A poetry workshop lead by Jamal Parker. Jamal Parker (he/him) is a writer, performance poet, teaching artist and actor residing in Philadelphia, PA. Jamal recieved his BA in Africology and African American studies from Temple University. His poetry explores race, masculinity, mental health, spirituality, hip hop, incarceration and police brutality while also platforming Black reselience and joy. As a performer he views art as a method to critique, entertain, and educate audiences with elements of activism, political satire, and escapism.
