About this Event

Join us to hear from the founders and creators of Black Sands Entertainment. Black Sands Entertainment was founded in 2016 and produces comics, novels, children’s books and animation that is based on African mythology, features Black heroes and diverse storytelling. They argue that in this country, the narrative about people of color has too often been slanted toward the experience of slavery, without the acknowledgement of the rich cultural heritage that was forcibly taken away by enslavement and colonization. More information can be found here https://www.blacksandsentertainment.com/. Hosted by the Center for Race, Equity, and Identity.
