Building Just Communities: Panel and Conversation

The final event in the "Coalesce" speaker series, this panel of international scholars and organizers will address the question: How do we build just communities? sharing from their research and personal experience. Panelists are: Marisela Gomez, a public health researcher in Baltimore; Derecka Purnell, an attorney in DC who grew up St. Louis, and did organizing, in Ferguson, MO; Adam Elliott-Cooper, a geographer based in the UK; and Lester Spence, a professor of Africana Studies and Political Science at Johns Hopkins. The panel begins at 7, and there will be time for both formal (a public Q&A) and informal (coffee and dessert with panelists and community members) questions and relationship-building.
