Camille Schenkkan, our Goucher MAAA adjunct faculty member teaching Arts and Education, has published a new book: Navigating a Career in Technical Entertainment.

Camille and her coauthor, Jessica Champagne Hansen, will be interviewed by Ramona Baker (director of the MAAA program) on March 1, 2023. The interview will be on Zoom from 7:30 - 8:30 PM ET (4:30 - 5:30 PM PT). Everyone is welcome to attend this discussion and ask questions. Everyone is invited to participate, there is no fee, and registration is required.

This guidebook is written for designers, technicians, stage managers, production managers, crew members, and creative technical artists in all stages of their career. Covering areas from theater and television to commercials and theme parks, Navigating a Career in Technical Entertainment is a perfect companion for exploring career and workforce readiness as well as for professionals actively working in the field.

In addition to being a faculty member in the MAAA program at Goucher, Camille is the Deputy Managing Director at the Center Theatre Group in Los Angeles. She serves on the Board of Circle X Theatre, co-chaired the National Emerging Leaders Council through Americans for the Arts, and served as an issue expert for the Kennedy Center's Alliance for Arts Education Network.

Camille's coauthor is Jessica Champagne Hansen. Jessica is a costume designer and technician with experience in theatre, dance, film, television, commercials, and theme parks. She is a Costume Faculty at East Los Angeles College in the Theatre Arts Department and a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829.
