Collecting Jane Austen in America: Alberta H. Burke & Her Great Gift to Goucher

Dr. Juliette Wells, the Elizabeth Conolly Todd Distinguished Professor of English in the Center for the Humanities at Goucher College, will lead an illustrated lecture on Alberta Burke’s collecting and highlights of her collection, which includes first and rare editions, translations, and ephemera.

Following the presentation, objects and items from the Burke collection will be on display, with introductions and commentary by Juliette Wells, Special Collections & Archives staff, and an experienced student researcher. This is a unique opportunity that you will not want to miss!
