Dance Guest Artist-in-Residence: Adam Hougland
Adam Hougland launched his choreographic career while studying at The Juilliard School, with his group work Beyond, which won the Hector Zaraspe Prize for Chroeography. He has performed with the Limón Dance Company, Toronto Dance Theatre and the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company. Mr. Hougland has created works for Morphoses/The Wheeldon Company, American Ballet Theatre Studio Company, Introdans (the Netherlands), the Limón Dance Company, the Washington Ballet, Ballet X, and the New York Choreographic Institute at New York City Ballet, among others. He is the principal choreographer for the Louisville Ballet and resident choreographer for Cincinnati Ballet, having won the Princess Grace Award for Choreography, the Choo San Goh Award for Choreography, as well as a New York State Council for the Arts Commissioning Grant. Mr. Hougland will teach ballet classes and set a work on Goucher dancers to be performed on the Goucher Repertory Dance Ensemble Concert on November 10 and 11. Master classes open to high-intermediate and advanced ballet dancers.
