DESCRIPTION:ECO's Earth Night Hike will begin promptly after waiver signing
  outside the Community Garden.\n\nJoin Dr. Peggy Eppig to enter the night 
 woods for an interpretive hike to vernal pools to look for tadpoles and la
 te season amphibians\, a lights-off stop learn about and talk to the campu
 s resident barred owls\, and a check on our moth lighting station for spec
 ies of nocturnal moths and other night-flying insects who live at the edge
  of open sky and closed woodland canopy. There may be bats! This hike will
  include a segment of woodland trail as well as some off-trail exploration
  using flashlights. Learn why the conservation of the natural night-time e
 nvironment is a top priority for many communities and what we can do to he
 lp nocturnal creatures thrive on our campus.
