Join us for a conversation with Joan Pulupa ’11, Ph.D., as we reflect on her time at Goucher and how Goucher prepared her for her career in science.

Pulupa graduated from Goucher with degrees in physics and biological science. She went on to study molecular machines at Rockefeller University, where she earned her PhD. During her graduate training, she developed methods to monitor protein dynamics in living cells using polarized light microscopy, revealing new insights into nuclear pore biology. Dr. Pulupa is now a postdoctoral fellow at Columbia University, where she currently studies genome structure.
