The Goucher Jazz Ensemble presents a program including jazz, Latin, and pop standards. The ensemble, under the directorship of Dr. Donnie Scally, brings together students from across campus, with varying levels of experience in collaborative learning and performance. Students practice conventions of jazz in multiple sub-genres and related styles while honing their individual abilities in improvisation and accompaniment, learning new repertoire, and developing group performing skills. Repertoire is drawn from suggestions by group members and arranged either collectively or by individual members of the ensemble.
