DESCRIPTION:Staged Reading of Plays from the Podcast Series\n\nGoucher stud
 ents will perform a staged reading of six short plays about the environmen
 t and climate change. The six plays are available as a series of podcasts 
 produced by the theatre program but this performance will allow audiences 
 to experience the work live. Additionally\, the audience will hear six ori
 ginal musical compositions in their entirety. The music was written and pe
 rformed by a team of Goucher students to accompany each podcast episode.\n
 \nFive of the plays were commissioned by Climate Change Theatre Action and
  anthologized in “the future is not fixed”:\n\nPaying for IT by Thomas
  Peterson\n\nBook of G by Nelson Diaz-Marcano\n\nApology\, My by Keith Bar
 ker\n\nDreamSong by Heidi Kraay\n\nThe Pageant by Paula Cizmar\n\nOne play
 \, Human Invasion was written by Kristen Wheeler a junior minoring in thea
 tre.\n\nClimate Change Theatre Action is a worldwide festival of short pla
 ys about the climate crisis presented biennially to coincide with the Unit
 ed Nations Conference of the Parties. It is a U.S.-Canada collaboration be
 tween the organizations\, Arts & Climate Initiative\, and the Centre for S
 ustainable Practice in the Arts. The festival uses storytelling and live p
 erformance to foster dialogue about the global climate crisis to inspire a
 ction. It operates on the principle that complex problems must be addresse
 d through collaborative efforts.\n\nWe are proud to be a small part of thi
 s initiative that uses theatre to broadcast and make immediate and underst
 andable the work of our fellows making policy and science.
