Restorative Justice Talk with sujatha baliga
Join the Peace Studies capstone class for a coversation with sujatha baliga, a former victim advocate and public defender, and a survivor of childhood sexual assault. A 2019 MacArthur Fellow and current senior fellow at Impact Justice, sujatha has helped communities across the nation implement restorative justice as an alternative to juvenile detention and zero-tolerance policies in schools and court diversion programs. She is committed to restorative justice as a response to child sexual abuse and intimate partner violence. sujatha's research includes the power of forgiveness, survivor-centered and led movements, the potential of restorative justice for healing racial disparities in the criminal justice system, and Buddhist notions of conflict transformation.
