Panel Discussion on the role of the Internet/ social media in recent political developments in the Middle East and around the world.
We'll discuss the extent to which the Internet and social media platforms have affected International Relations, debate the consequences of Wikileaks and debate the role of the government in regulating the Internet/waging cyber war.
The panel will be moderated by Milena Rodban '08, President of the PBK chapter.
Ms. Rodban is a consultant specializing in Political Risk Analysis and a Contributing Analyst at Wikistrat. She also writes for WorldThreats.com.
Confirmed Panelists:
Mr. Seton Motley- President of Less Government. Mr. Motley has written extensively about net neutrality and internet freedom, and appears regularly on Russia Today and Fox News, among others. He is also the editor in chief of StopNetRegulation.org, a Center for Individual Freedom publication
Dr. Ariel Ilan Roth- Director, Global Security Studies at The Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Roth's first book, "Leadership in International Relations: The Balance of Power and the Origins of WW2" was published last year.
Dr. John Turner- Assistant Professor of Communications and Media Studies at Goucher College.
