Supporting Your Student Through the College Search (Without Taking Over)
About this Event
A virtual program designed to support alumnae/i families navigating the college decision process together. This conversation will focus on what to look for during campus visits, how to compare institutions, and strategies for balancing reach, match, and safety schools. The session will also emphasize effective family communication, setting realistic expectations, and helping students take ownership of their college journey. Attendees will hear insights from a Goucher alum parent who has recently gone through the process, along with tips from Goucher’s student life or academic success team on preparing teens for independence and balance. The program will conclude with an open “Ask an Admissions Counselor” Q&A for families. Attendees will also learn more about a special Legacy Day planned as part of Alumnae/i Weekend in April.
The College Bound Series for Goucher Families is hosted by the Office of Admissions and Alumnae/i Engagement.
