The Gifts That Surround Us: A Pop-Up Museum and Open Mic

The pop-up museum will gather and share your contributions in gallery and performance spaces in the Meyerhoff Arts Center. We invite you to bring tangible gifts like visual art work, natural objects or other meaningful things. These may be brought to the event or dropped off ahead of time in the secretarial office on the 2nd floor of the Meyerhoff, or brought directly to the event beginning at 4 PM on Thursday Dec. 2. We also would love to have you share music, poetry, dance or other forms of performance; we will have an Open Mic, and space for movement.

Gifts take many forms, but linking all of them is how they create connections and a sense of community. Whether art, music, story, poetry, food, dance, or other material or intangible gifts you have received or that are special to you, sharing ourselves through the gifts that surround us and help make us who we are is important to our well being and spirit of community. When we notice the gifts that surround us, everything changes.

Our Pop-Up museum invites all to bring gifts to display or perform; you are free to give these gifts away, or to hang on to them after the event. We will have hands-on activities, improvisation, chill spaces.
